How we work
Clear roles, from the field to the registry
Farmers and field teams do the work. Climate Ground prepares the evidence. The project developer owns the project. Accredited, independent bodies verify the results, and the registry decides what is issued.
Roles
Who does what
Produce the evidence and submit it
- 1Farmers and field teamsDo the work, keep the records and host the sensors.
- 2Climate GroundCollects and checks the evidence, runs the models and drafts the monitoring report.
- 3Project developerOwns and registers the project, and submits the reports.
Independent: validate, verify and issue
- 4Validation and verification bodyAccredited and approved by the registry. Validates the project design and verifies the results.
- 5RegistryIssues credits. Buyers retire them.
Validation and verification bodies are “qualified, independent third-party auditors who are approved by Verra.”
Our words are evidence, auditable and ready for verification. We never call our own work verified.
What each partner needs
The same evidence, shaped for each decision
Project developers
A monitoring report and evidence pack in the methodology's format, with exceptions resolved before the verifier arrives.
Verifiers
Traceable sources, named methods and versions, and a log of every correction, so each figure can be checked.
Food and drink companies
Farm-level evidence for supply-chain programmes, with each outcome kept separate and its uncertainty shown.
Insurers
A record of what was done on each field and when, with the sources behind it.
Governments
District and national summaries, with farm-level records kept in the country. For governments
Farmers and field teams
Advice drawn from the same evidence, in a form that fits how they already work, with recording kept simple.
Pilots
Start with a bounded pilot, then decide whether to expand
Each stage ends at a gate. The next stage starts only when the evidence supports it.
